A day off for me

Ah, what a nice and peaceful day.  At the end of the day yesterday, I asked if anyone would mind if I took the day off, even though everyone else was planning to come out.  Dana, Garry and I stayed in town while Paul, Eric and Bob went out to Williams Field to give ANITA some assistance with their buttoning-up process.  I was a little bummed that I didn't go out with them, especially since they saw a penguin over near Scott Base on their way out and three more near the weatherport later on in the day!  But even still, getting to sleep in was better than seeing a penguin.  There'll be other opportunities.
After partaking of the vast array of fruits, vegetables, pies, fish, eggs, bacon and pancakes that make up the fantastic McMurdo Sunday Brunch, I went over to the coffeehouse and spent most of the day over there looking at data from the whopper run that is going on out at Williams Field.  I had aspirations of climbing Observation Hill or doing something else active, but alas, sheer fatigue and lackadaisy won out.
Tomorrow, we're going to halt the current whopper run and button up TIGER permanently.  And, I hope to get some good pictures of the solar eclipse tomorrow.
